APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT

A great place to volunteer

Appalachia Service Project(ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that fosters human development by addressing the housing needs of Central Appalachia. The Appalachia Service Project is a home repair and home building ministry through which volunteers and staff repair and build homes for low-income families in rural Central Appalachia.
Each year, ASP achieves its goals with the assistance of nearly 15,000 volunteers. The Summer Ministry Program is especially valuable for high school youth groups and their adult advisors; and ASP also offers year-round service opportunities for college groups, family groups, individuals, and couples at our Housing Services Centers.
No matter what your skill level, we invite you to join the experience with the Asbury ASP team yourself!

Meet The Homeowners

"I am not an ASP volunteer. ASP started work on my home today. As I sit here with tears on my face, I struggle to find the words to express how thankful I am to God for sending the volunteers to work on my home. I am the mother of a little boy. I am living with my parents because the home I have is in such bad shape we cannot live there. ASP is giving us our lives back. I wanted so badly to walk down to our home where all the volunteers were working to shake their hands and tell them how they are changing our lives. I hope I will gather the courage to do so tomorrow. Living in these mountains, makes some shy and unable to express their feelings. God has sent ASP to us. The people working on our home have given me hope again. How does one thank so many for giving them their life back? How do I put into words how full my heart is right now because of what God and these wonderful people are doing in my life? There are no words I can find....so I will simply say THANK YOU!"
